„Kann ich das auch?“ is the title of the new book of @kolja_reichert which aims to explain art in a very simple way. The former @faz critic has answered 50 questions that one could ask about art even without the knowledge of an expert.

Currently on display @kunsthaushamburg is the exhibition "Nominees 2023", showing all 20 nominees for the Hamburger Arbeitsstipendium 2023. Every year the @bkm_hamburg awards 10 Hamburg based artists to support their artistic work financially during the next year.

The exhibition explores the concept of home - of longing and belonging - through almost 150 works from 61 artists. The landmark memoir by the late artist and writer Etel Adnan "In the Heart of the Heart of Another Country" (2004) has served as a source of inspiration.

In the exhibition, migrant forms - both abstract and lyrical, come to life as propositional architectures. The practice of accumulation and repetition serves as a metaphor for ecology and the movement of materials across routes of trade and migration.

The works you see are drawn entirly from the holdings of the Sharjah Art Foundation Collection and are curated by the Director of the Collection Dr. Omar Kholeif.
